The only reliable time to record a trial end is while the confirmation email is still open. Create a reminder for two days before the charge. Name the service. Do not put passwords in the text.
Annual plans need a longer fuse
A month before renewal is enough to decide. Complete the reminder when you cancel or when you decide to keep it. Then you can reuse the free-plan slot.
